Family tree Pot-Pourri – Week Ending 11 September 2023 Acquire US

1)  Attended the Chula Vista Genealogical Society (CVGS) Board Assembly on Wednesday on Zoom and reported on the publication, Analysis Group and DNA Curiosity Group actions.  

2)  Attended the San Diego Genealogical Society Fall Seminar on Saturday on Zoom with Gena Philibert-Ortega presenting 4 talks.

3)  Wrote, edited and revealed the month-to-month CVGS publication “Household Historical past Gazette” for September 2023.

4)  Wrote a genealogical sketch for  seventh great-grandmother #945 Rebecca (Rolfe) (Cutter) Whitmore (1662-1751) of Newbury and Cambridge, Massachusetts for the 52 Ancestors sequence on Friday.  I’ve written 496 of those sketches for my ancestors.

5)  Transcribed the 4 web page  1947 Will and 1948 Codicil of Mary Ok. Seaver (1862-1948) of Staten Island, New York for the Amanuensis Monday sequence.  I’ve transcribed about 700 data on this sequence.

6)  Downloaded and explored the 2024 model of the family tree software program program Heredis. Imported a GEDCOM file, and checked out the “Wheels” characteristic in Rabbit Holes With Randy – The “Wheels” in Heredis Family tree Software program.

7)  Added over 650 pictures of Linda to a brand new “Linda’s Pictures” file folder on the pc, making an attempt to get all of them in a single place.  Plenty of trip and grandchildren images!  I want to do that for myself and my mother and father and grandparents additionally.

8)  AncestryDNA now has 43,949 DNA matches (up 28 from 4 September) for me right now, with no new ThruLines.   I added  Notes to fifteen matches, and the DNA Match line for no ThruLines to RootsMagic.  MyHeritageDNA now has 11,688 DNA matches (up 19 from 4 September) for me, with no new Theories.  Reviewed the brand new DNA matches on AncestryDNA, MyHeritageDNA, FamilyTreeDNA and 23andMe.  

9)  Sometimes matched RootsMagic 9 profiles to FamilySearch Household Tree.  I’ve matched 49,849 of my RootsMagic individuals with FamilySearch Household Tree profiles (up 2).  


10) Used Net Hints and Report Matches from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast and FamilySearch so as to add content material and supply citations to my RootsMagic profiles. I now have 71,438 individuals in my RootsMagic household tree (up 14), and 146,209  supply citations (up 31).  Resolved 371 Ancestry Hints. TreeShared no new and up to date profiles with Ancestry.  My Ancestry Member Tree has Ancestry Report Hints with 178,635 to be resolved, however I work on them a number of occasions per week.  

11) Wrote 16 Genea-Musings weblog posts final week (Sunday via Saturday), of which two have been a press launch. Essentially the most considered publish final week was Visitor Publish: What Occurred at AncestryDNA This Week? with over 1310 views.  Genea-Musings had about 75,000 web page views final week.  

12)  Actual life:  That is week 183 since COVID restrictions began.   I stayed dwelling aside from visiting Linda virtually day by day on the expert nursing/reminiscence care facility. Walked day by day on the block and talked to a number of neighbors.   Completed studying The Decide’s Checklist by John Grisham and began Faye Kellerman’s Gun Video games. Watched the SDSU Aztecs lose their soccer sport in opposition to UCLA.  The Padres season continued, and I watched all the video games this previous week.  They’re 67-77 up to now (2-4 this previous week) and nonetheless in fourth place within the NL West division.  Watched the Chargers sport on Sunday they usually misplaced to Miami 36-34.
