Flaming particles was seen blazing throughout the evening sky in Melbourne on Monday, sparking a flurry of social media posts questioning if it was a meteor.
The Australian Area Company mentioned in a press release that the flashes of sunshine have been “doubtless” remnants of a Russian Soyuz-2 rocket re-entering the Earth’s environment.
The rocket had been used to launch a satellite tv for pc earlier within the night.
